Keyless entry instructions, answered as carefully as they deserve

A wrong lockbox code or garbled keypad instruction isn't a minor mistake — it locks a guest out or, worse, gives access instructions that are simply wrong. Here's exactly what AnswerBnB does and doesn't do about it today.

The problem

Smart lock codes, lockbox combinations, and keypad instructions change more often than most property facts and are among the highest-stakes things a guest asks about. Getting this answer wrong is a materially worse failure than getting Wi-Fi wrong.

What AnswerBnB does today

Real, shipped behavior

  • Entry instructions are stored as property knowledge (a manual entry or crawled source), same as any other fact
  • Answered through the same evidence-evaluation layer as every question — if there's no confident, unconflicted, current source, the system escalates rather than guessing
  • A proactive readiness signal flags a property whose knowledge is missing, conflicting, or stale before a guest ever asks

An honest current limitation

  • Entry/access details are not yet one of the platform's explicit high-risk structured fact categories the way check-in time, check-out time, and pet policy already are — today they're handled as general property knowledge rather than a dedicated, stricter-gated category. Planned

What we don't claim

AnswerBnB does not integrate directly with smart lock hardware or apps — it does not generate, rotate, or remotely control one-time codes, and it does not claim an IoT/lock-vendor connector today. Planned See Integrations for what exists versus what's designed for later.
